But no, using the included app, the device can also automatically transcribe these conversations into text. You no longer need to spend ages wondering whether your recording app actually works. Whether you can quickly record incoming and outgoing calls – something that’s rarely possible with any app solution. Here is the hardware solution, enhanced beyond measure by its software.
You attach the device to the back of your smartphone using MagSafe. If your smartphone doesn’t have MagSafe yet, that’s no problem either, as a stick-on MagSafe ring is included in the pack. Now install the free app for iOS or Android, log in, and you’re ready to go. One button is used to start recording if you want to make or receive a call. The other is used to transfer the recording to the app afterwards and generate a text transcript. After two minutes, you’ll have the text and can send it via various channels (email, etc.) just like the audio recording itself. A total of 102 languages are supported. The 20 most common languages are handled perfectly. We tried it out and even received flawless transcriptions in the Viennese dialect, which required only minor adjustments.
You’ll receive 600 minutes of free transcription every month for life. If that’s not enough for you, you can purchase additional minutes. The maximum amount is $29.99 for 6,000 minutes, which are valid for one year.
The device does not have to be linked to a smartphone. You can also record lectures, conversations and similar events, link the device to the app afterwards, and have the recordings transcribed into text. This makes it a useful companion for meetings and lectures too. The built-in magnet also allows you to easily attach the device to magnetic surfaces. The recording time on a single battery charge is 8.5 hours.
