We prefer manufacturers with a small product range. They focus on the few devices in their range and usually offer unrivalled quality. We are particularly interested in listening devices for the 4G network, as following the switch-off of the 2G network in Switzerland, Austria, Germany and other European countries will follow suit by 2028 at the latest. We don’t want our devices to become obsolete in a short space of time. A SIM card (data and voice) is all you need. Once inserted and charged, connect the device to a PC/Mac and configure all settings via the software. The sensitivity of the microphone amplification and voice activation, the recording time after the last Vox trigger, the file length of the recordings and automatic call answering. You can configure all of this with ease in just a few clicks.

The device is fitted with a 1,200mAh battery, but can also be powered via an external power source (car socket, 220V mains, power bank, etc.), meaning it can be used indefinitely. On a single charge, the device can operate for up to 20 hours in active mode whilst recording and uploading (manufacturer’s specification). We achieved over 30 hours in our test. . The standby time is up to 7 days. An external microphone, attached to a 1-metre cable, allows you to position the unit so that it remains undetected, whilst still achieving the best possible recording and listening results thanks to the external microphone.

You can listen in live via a phone call, and all audio files are still uploaded to a server, from where you can download the recordings at any time via the app. So you won’t miss a thing, and you don’t need to go to the device itself to save the recordings. Everything can be done remotely.

This includes cloud storage with a retention period of 2 days. After that, the oldest files will be overwritten. If you need more storage, you can easily book a (paid) cloud upgrade via the app. It doesn’t get any better than this. At least not at the moment.
